Staff VPN for Personal Devices

Overview

Certain website and software you use at Davenport University may require you to be connected to VPN. You can use the instructions below to install the Global Protect VPN client on a personal device or DU Laptop if not already installed.

Instructions

  1. Visit https://vpn.davenport.edu and log in with your normal username and password. If you are not able to login, you may not have VPN rights yet, contact the CSC at x1212 or 1-800-322-3984 and we can get that added for you.
  2. Choose the appropriate version for your machine. (DU laptops use Win64 bit). Open the file and follow the installer prompts.
  3. Once installed, after opening you may be prompted for a setting called "portal". Type in: vpn.davenport.edu (no http or prefix). Enter your login credentials when prompted.
  4. The application is controlled via the system tray, which can be opened by clicking on the up arrow in the bottom right of Windows or with the Globe icon at the top right in MacOS. There are only three states, "Connecting", "Connected" or "Disconnected". Right click the icon to find the Connect/Disconnect option. If the globe icon does not appear in the system tray, go to the Windows menu or search and look for "Global" (Global Protect).

If you are having trouble, or have any questions, please give us a call at x1212 or 1-800-322-3984 and we can assist you further.
