Finding the MAC address on an Apple computer

Overview

If you need to hard wire your Mac in a dorm, you may need to register the device with it's MAC address. Follow the instructions below to find it.

Instructions

1. Click the apple logo in the top left, and click 'System Preferences'
2. Click 'Network'
3. Select the 'Ethernet' or 'WiFi' item depending on connection type (Both WiFi and Ethernet connections have a unique MAC address)
4. Click 'Advanced', then click on the 'Hardware' tab. The MAC address will be listed here.
