Connecting to wired network / ethernet port

Overview

If you are trying to connect to a wired network or ethernet port in your dorm, you may need to register your device prior to connecting. This is most common when connecting game consoles or PCs to the network.

To Find your MAC Address on a Windows 10 PC:

1. Search for 'Network Status' in the lower left search bar and open it
2. Click the 'View your network properties' link on this page
3. This page will show all network adapters in the system, typically Wifi and Ethernet, sometimes more. Find the entry that corresponded to your ethernet port and use the 'Physical address (MAC)' value to register your device
