Overview
SafeAssign is a plagiarism detection tool integrated into Blackboard (https://davenport.blackboard.com/) that compares student submissions against a global database to identify overlapping content. It generates an Originality Report for instructors to ensure work is responsibly and honorably presented
Instructions
Log in to Blackboard (https://davenport.blackboard.com/) and navigate to your specific course.
• Locate the assignment you need to submit, which is typically found under the "Weekly Materials" or "Course Content" section.
• Upload your file by clicking Browse Local Files, selecting your document, and then clicking Submit.
• If your instructor has enabled the tool, SafeAssign will automatically compare your assignment against other submitted papers and websites to identify matches.
• Once the process is complete, an Originality Report is generated providing detailed information about any overlapping text.
• If you have concerns regarding a high originality score or need to discuss the report findings, you must speak directly with your instructor. IT Support Center technicians do not interpret these reports or make determinations regarding academic integrity
