Students, faculty, and staff at Davenport University have free access to Microsoft Office 365 apps online and to install on their personal computers. Follow these steps to create a Microsoft account and download Office 365.
Below is a link of what is included with the Office 365 A3 version that you can get for free:

Davenport University has an A3 Plus license for Students/Staff. When you install Office 365 on your computer, it becomes ‘Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise’. ‘Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise’ is essentially the Pro Plus version, just with different names.
Instructions on how to download and install are below:
The website to get Microsoft Office 365 for Students/Staff is located here:
http://www.office.com/getoffice365 or
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office/default.aspx
When you go to the website, you’re going to see a header that says, “Get started with Office 365”. Below the header will be a turquoise button that says, “Get started for institutions.” Clicking on the button will take you to a new page with a box that says, “Email”. If you’re a student, then you’re going to enter in your Panthermail email address (yourusername@email.davenport.edu) and click on the blue Next button. If you’re a Staff/Faculty member, then you’re going to enter in your DMail address (yourusername@davenport.edu) and click on the blue Next button.
This will walk you through the process of getting an Office 365 account setup. You will be sent a verification code to your Panthermail during the process. The code should come in an email with a subject of, “###### is your Office 365 Education verification code,” where the # symbols represent numbers. Sometimes, the verification code can be sent into your SPAM, so check there if you don’t see the email. At the end of the process, you should be automatically logged into your Office 365 account.
On the page that says, “Hi, what can I help you with?” click on the waffle icon (3x3 dots) in the upper-left corner above “New chat.” In the pop-out menu, click on “More apps.” In the top right there should be a purple “Install apps” button, click on that and then “Microsoft 365 apps.” This should take you to a new page where you can click Install Office which will download the installer for Office 365. Simply run that installer after it has downloaded and Office 365 will begin installing on your machine.
Follow the directions in the email to complete the process and download Office. You'll be able to install the software on up to five Windows or Mac computers, plus download the Office mobile apps for Android, iOS or Windows tablets or phones. Your Office 365 subscription also entitles you to 100 GB of free cloud storage in OneDrive. Neither Microsoft nor your institution provide support as this is a free product.
