Finding the MAC address on an Apple computer

Overview

If you need to hard wire your Mac in a dorm, you may need to register the device with it's MAC address. Follow the instructions below to find it.

Instructions

Finding the MAC Address on an Apple Computer:

1. Click the Apple logo in the top left and click System Settings
2. Click Network in the left sidebar
3. Select Ethernet or Wi-Fi depending on your connection type. Both have a unique MAC address.
4. Click Details next to the network connection. The MAC address will be listed as Wi-Fi Address for Wi-Fi or MAC Address for Ethernet on the Hardware tab.
