Connecting to wired network / ethernet port

Overview

If you are trying to connect to a wired network or ethernet port in your dorm, you may need to register your device prior to connecting. This is most common when connecting game consoles or PCs to the network.

To find your MAC Address on a Windows 11 PC:

  1. Click the Start button and open Settings (or press Windows + I)
  2. Navigate to Network & Internet and click Advanced network settings
  3. This page will show all network adapters in the system, typically Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Click View additional properties under the adapter that corresponds to your Ethernet port and use the Physical address (MAC) value to register your device
